Back in last year of high school, the prom ball was the no. 1 topic for most of the year. I remember how desperate I was, when I couldn't find the perfect accessories for my lovely dress - I went through almost every shop in Prague and I didn't like anything. Few weeks before my prom ball, I got an idea - why don't I make the accessories myself?! And just like that, these lovely flowers were born.
The process of making the flower is simple - just follow few easy steps:
1) Get the following materials:
- organza (pick more complementing colours)
- beads
- scissors
- candle
- glue gun
- or needle and thread

2) Cut circles from your organza. I used 6 (1 big, 3 medium and 2 small), but you can use as many as you want, but don't forget to cut different sizes. I recommend using a stencil for each size, but you don't need to do that if your organza is easy to seal.
3) Seal the edges. This step also makes the organza look like petals, but be careful and don't keep the fabric above the lit candle for too long or else it can burn.
Every fabric producer has a bit different fabric, so I highly recommend trying on scrap fabric how does the fabric you choose react to the fire. Mine were easy to melt, but the darker pink fabric caught fire few times, so really do this test before!
4) Glue the petals together. It is also possible to sew it, but it takes some time, especially when it comes to adding beads in the centre of the flower.
When you are done with your flower, it is the time to start figuring out how to wear it. I bought some components in craft store, but you can find earring base, ring base etc. on ebay . For the choker necklace I used black organza ribbon, but be aware, that attaching closure to this ribbon may take more stitches than it would to a normal fabric.
You might be curious why did I choose to attach the flower to the chocker necklace by the safety pin. "That must be dangerous!" you say? It is not, I wear it on regular basis for almost 2 years and it works just fine because I closed the safety pin by pliers so that it can't open and stab me. Also, this is the easiest way to attach the flower and I am pretty lazy person. :)
Enjoy your lovely accessories!
